WHYELUME was born during a season of survival. Financial hardship, unstable housing, health challenges, motherhood, loss of support, and the pressure of carrying more than one person should have to carry alone. I know what it feels like to keep showing up while wondering how the next bill, meal, setback, or unexpected crisis will be handled.
At some point, surviving was no longer enough. I had to recognize how much of myself I had poured into people, situations, and responsibilities while leaving too little for me. The turning point came when I began reclaiming myself, setting boundaries, rebuilding, and deciding that what I had lived through would not be the end of my story.
WHYELUME is more than clothing. It was created to remind people that even in dark seasons, there is still purpose, worth, strength, and light within them. Every piece is meant to carry a message. To encourage people to keep going, reclaim themselves, believe in what they can become, and wear something that represents more than appearance.
As WHYELUME grows, I want its impact to grow with it. The mission is to turn that growth into meaningful support for children and families, from nutritious food and clothing to opportunities, practical resources, and the kind of community support that can make life's hardest seasons a little lighter. I may not be able to help everyone, but WHYELUME can help where it can, and inspire others to do the same.
